Nestled in the heart of downtown Freeport, the 1831 Harrington House is home to the Freeport Historical Society’s exhibits and archival vault. Visit with your students to connect with our passionate FHS staff and explore the rich history of Freeport up close.





Imagine stepping onto a 140-acre saltwater farm frozen in time! The c. 1810 farmhouse has never been updated with electricity or plumbing, giving students an authentic, immersive glimpse into Maine’s agrarian heritage. Add in the historic brick wharf and sprawling saltwater marsh, and this property becomes a classroom unlike any other.
